Open Sheets in Multiple Windows

On iPadOS and macOS, Expenses can open a sheet in a separate window when the system supports multiple windows.

This is useful when you want to compare two sheets, keep a trip sheet open while reviewing another sheet, or use Stage Manager on iPad.

Open a Sheet in a New Window

To open a sheet in a new window:

1. Open the sheets list or the sheet you want to separate.
2. Open the sheet actions menu or the sheet’s more menu.
3. Choose Open in New Window.

If the sheet is already open in its own window, Expenses opens that existing window instead of creating another copy.

Window Restoration

When the system restores Expenses windows, each sheet window reopens to the same sheet when possible.

If the sheet is no longer available, for example because it was deleted or you no longer have access to it, the window may open without that sheet.

iPhone and Apple Vision

The Open in New Window action only appears on platforms and device setups that support multiple windows. On iPhone, continue opening sheets from the sheets list.
